It’s been a year since I left Tokyo, Japan. I like Tokyo and wanted to be back home, but was worried to be back to the metropolitan city after a one year stay in Charlotte. Can I adjust to the life in the fast paced life in Tokyo?
I decided this trip… I think during the summer, many months before the departure in November. I knew well enough that Thanksgiving is not a fun time for a lonely foreigner to be in the US, and the business gets really slow. So, I decided to go back to Japan – trying to catch up with my family, friends and colleagues, expecting to find a position in Tokyo.
I chose Japan Airlines to travel with. It is a little bit pricier than the other airlines, but thinking of being on the air for 14 hours, isn’t that worth paying?
I got on a plane. Lucky enough, I was the only person in the three seats. I turned on the monitor and watched Japanese news program. But nothing stays in my head. Just like I am listening to something in English, the sound just go through ears from right to left. Isn’t that weird?
